For the last few years, the 13th arrondissement of Paris has attracted the best graffiti artists from all over the world. On the facades of buildings these street-artists have created paintings of a size to match their talent, works as colourful as they are monumental. This gathering of giant frescoes forms a beautiful and exciting open-air art gallery that gives the 13th an international influence and an exceptional cultural dimension. This place where the stars of urban art are free to express themselves has become a tourist attraction that helps the public to appreciate this new form of contemporary creativity.

An unprecedented artistic route and a major tourist attraction

To discover the 50 monumental frescoes implanted in the urban fabric, born from the imagination of 22 world-famous artists, just follow the route called ‘Parcours Street Art 13’. Designed by the Galerie Itinérance, it’s mainly grouped around the elevated section of Metro line 6, especially on the Boulevard Vincent Auriol and surrounding area. The walls of the boulevard, illuminated at night by solar-powered lamps, make this pictorial journey a must-see when visiting the City of Light.

Among the works not to be missed are the ‘Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité’ fresco at 186 Rue Nationale, created by the American street art icon Shepard Fairey (OBEY) in tribute to France and the victims of the terrorist attacks of November, 2015. You can also admire ‘XXL’ by Alapinta (Chile) at 50 Rue Jeanne d'Arc, work by BTOY (Spain) at 3 Rue Esquirol, C215 (France) at 141 Boulevard Vincent Auriol ... and much more!
