Outdoor cinema at La Villette, the must-see festival
It’s highlighted on the calendars of all Parisian movie buffs. The outdoor cinema festival in the Parc de la Villette runs from July 18th to August 19th. For this 2018 edition, the theme is ‘How about singing?’ and musicals, music star biopics and concert footage are on the programme.
The largest open-air cinema
For this 28th edition, the Festival de Cinéma en Plein air de la Villette has lined up a great selection of recent releases, much-loved classics and cult cinema gems to ensure that each and every evening will offer a big screen bonanza for lovers of the 7th art. Musical comedies, documentaries, fascinating biopics and more will bring movie magic to your summer evenings spent on the grass of the Villette. Children won’t be left out, either, as there will be a day organised especially for young audiences, which will include a screening of the Disney masterpiece, The Jungle Book.
Exceptional evenings to complement the festival
In addition to a magnificent programme of screenings, the festival has prepared some great complementary evenings, all with a cinematic theme. For the opening, a fantastic garden party is presented at Glaz'art, not far from the Parc de la Villette. On August 10th, dive into the exotic with an Indian walk in the capital, in tribute to that evening’s showing of the romantic Hindi film Devdas. Finally, on August 18th, you can dance the night away after the movie.
After evenings of film fan heaven, you’ll be delighted to return to your little haven at the COQ Hotel, in the 13th arrondissement of Paris. This unique establishment stands out with its blending of vintage and modern, and its high standard of services. Book your room for a perfectly idyllic Parisian getaway this summer!
